En-route to the Lodge of Instruction supper on 9th June, the Worshipful Master, Charity Steward and Director of Ceremonies of Lodge de Wydemere No.6282 met with the Very Reverend Adrian Newman, the Dean of Rochester Cathedral.

The party presented him with a cheque for £600, being the proceeds of the raffle and collection taken at the Lodge’s April meeting.

V.Revd. Adrian has a personal target to raise £100,000 in support of the Bishop of Rochester’s £10 million project to revitalise the Cathedral and local community, and ran in this year’s London
marathon towards that end. By asking qualifying Brethren to ‘Gift Aid’ their donations, the actual value of the donation was effectively increased to over £720.

A very complimentary letter of thanks has since been received by the Lodge in which the Dean thanked all the Brethren for the donation, and confirmed that he is well on target to achieve his ambitious goal.
