Celebrate 500th Meeting
Tuesday May 2nd was a special event for
Canterbury’s Binnewith Lodge No.6338 which celebrated
its 500th meeting since the Lodge was Consecrated just after
the war in 1946.
A full Temple enjoyed a convivial evening which
besides the usual business heard a short history of the Lodge,
its formation and some of its achievements and characters
by one of the senior members WBro Ben May. Afterwards the
Worshipful Master WBro Ray Hubbard, cut each Brother present
a slice of celebration cake, which had been baked by his mother.
To mark the occasion the Lodge decided to present
a cheque for £500 to a local charity, but being unable
to choose between their three preferred charities - Demelza
House Children's Hospice, Kent Air Ambulance and Odyssey Cancer
Rehabilitation - the Lodge agreed to give them each £500.
