  205 Not Out

“Between you, you have given 205 years of service to Masonry.” This was the observation made by the Provincial Grand Master on his visit to the Castle Lodge No.1436 on 9th October, when three members were presented with a 50 year Certificate and a fourth was congratulated on having completed 55 years membership.

Worshipful Brothers Bill Breaden, Daniel Ludlow and John Ludlow were the recipients of the Certificates and Worshipful Brother Ken Clark had completed the 55 years membership. The Provincial Grand Master outlined the activities pursued by those Brethren receiving their first certificates and was generous in his praise for their achievements.

Although the presentation of the Certificates was a highlight, it was only one of the special events that took place that evening. The Provincial Grand Master was both surprised and delighted when the Worshipful Master, WBro Ray Griffiths, presented a cheque for £2,000 for his Discretionary Fund.

This was followed by confirmation of the list of 31 other charities which received donations from the Lodge during the summer months totalling £10,100. Most of the presentations had been made personally by the Worshipful Master or a senior member of the Lodge.
