A presentation of two much needed paediatric
tympanic thermometers was made to the Accident & Emergency
Department of the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital
in Margate by members of Rutupiae Lodge No.6611.
This type of thermometer measures body temperature
by detecting infra-red radiation from the tympanic membrane
in the ear, and is growing in popularity due to the ease of
use and minimal distress to the child patient.
