Just occasionally, there is somebody who gives of himself generously and works hard with no motive other than to help. One such person is WBro “Dick” Barton PPrGSwdB, who has for many years served as the graphic designer for this publication. Of enormous assistance to WBro Brian Dale PSGD PPrAGM during his editorship, Dick was instrumental in helping to bring The Provincial from its early days into the world of full colour, and the house style of the publication with which we have all become familiar, owes much to his vision and skill.

It is with a tinge of sadness therefore that we announce Dick’s retirement from his role with us, and we are certain that you will all join with us in our heartfelt thanks to him for his sterling contribution to the success of The Provincial over the years. It is always difficult to find adequate words to express gratitude, so we hope that a very simple “Thank you” will suffice.
