| As
A Matter of Information
www.eastkentfreemasonry.org
The Provincial Information Officer now
has responsibility for the Provincial website and is charged
with the task of updating it. The necessary work is being
undertaken by members of the Province and I am grateful to
all of those who have volunteered their services. I hope that
in time we will be able to find jobs for all of them. Due
to circumstances which could not have been anticipated, progress
has been much slower than I had hoped, but a substantial start
has been made.
The aim of the site is to tell the story of
our Province as it is today, but with a glance back to our
history and something about our aspirations for the future.
As such it should become the prime source of information for
members and informative for anyone else looking at the site,
whether or not a Freemason. In the medium or longer term it
should become a primary tool for communication between members,
their Lodges and the Province. It is not intended to give
information about Freemasonry in general or second guess primary
sites where that information is available, but those seeking
further information will be pointed in the right direction
by a series of links to other websites.

Some of the pages now on view are temporary.
This is particularly so in the case of our Lodges where I
hope that we will make much more detailed information available.
In particular, if your Lodge has a website and you would like
this linked to the Provincial site, please let me have details.
The website will have to be approved (ideally it should carry
the Grand Lodge Charter Mark) and, presently, I cannot say
when it will be possible to effect such a link. If you know
of any other Masonic website which might be linked I will
be pleased to have details e.g. The Maidstone Masonic Centre
has its own site and this will be linked. If you have not
yet seen our website, or looked at it since the turn of the
year, please do so, and carry on looking!
