  Scramble For Globe And Laurel

There was plenty of excitement when representatives of the Deal based Globe and Laurel Lodge No. 4657 went along to visit the Kent Air Ambulance Trust. Just as they arrived, the Air Ambulance was scrambled for an emergency! The Lodge having agreed to a marvellous £1,000 donation to the Trust, Worshipful Master Gordon Offer-Hoar, accompanied by Secretary WBro Bob Bell PPrAGReg and Past Master WBro Jim Craig PPrDSuptWks, made the journey to the helicopter’s base at Marden to present the cheque in person. While they waited for the flight to return, the party was given a very interesting tour of the base. Eventually, once the helicopter and crew had done its important work, the presentation went ahead, with WBro Offer-Hoar presenting the cheque to pilot Richard Cooke and the flight doctor and paramedic.
